I arranged to go to the dealership to purchase the vehicle after driving two hours I arrived to see them selling the car to someone else. They said it was a communication problem but I have all the text between myself and the dealership. They still had the opportunity to pause the sell and honor the appointment they scheduled with me but they didn’t and all I got was “sorry you drove so far”. Keep in mind I had already offered to buy it and have it shipped and they said they couldn’t do that , I had to be on the lot.

I specifically asked if the new tires were on the vehicle, and that I didn’t want to come in to see it until they were on. I called the salesperson, they said the new tires were on…and they were not, which I didn’t discover until I arrived. I’d rather hear “Let me check” than be told something untrue. Unimpressed.

Thank you for requesting my update/edit following my error [closed inadvertently] last evening... I’m surprised and disheartened by Classic Toyota Henderson and CarGurus.com posting online adds, in late December 2025, for a vehicle that "sold a while ago," Classic Toyota eventually reported. While 2 of their sales representatives quickly responded to my inquiry, it would have helped me most for their voicemails to have informed me that it already had sold. DR

CMA’s Toyota of Rocky Mount went out of their way to make the deal transparent and to make sure I was comfortable and confident about this sale. Some dealers keep you in the cloud of hype and confusion until you sign the bottom line. Not these folks. I’ll be back.
