Consumers need to be very careful when dealing with car dealerships. In my experience, some dealerships appear to pressure customers into obtaining financing through the dealership rather than using a pre-approved loan from their own bank or credit union. I believe this practice is unethical. If a customer has already secured financing through their private bank, there should be no issue providing a purchase order so the transaction can move forward. Refusing to provide a purchase order simply because the customer chooses to use outside financing creates unnecessary obstacles and gives the impression that the dealership is prioritizing its financing profits over the customer’s right to choose how they pay for the vehicle. This is the situation I encountered with BMW of Coconut Creek in Florida. I obtained my own financing and was prepared to purchase the vehicle, yet I was told I could not receive a purchase order unless I financed through the dealership. Customers should be free to

The car was not detailed properly. Many scratches not taken care of. Brought car in for appointment to address damage. Nobody knew anything about the scheduled appointment and Theo was not there. He made the appointment with me. A day later I have heard nothing and don’t know what if anything has been done to my car. Phone calls going unanswered

Terrible. Argumentative manager who raised the price from what the salesman quoted in writing. Then tripled the down payment to hold the car. Called the dealership before driving to pick it up. Arrived and waited 20 minutes before being informed they had sold it to someone else. Had to argue with the manager again to get a copy of proof that the down payment would be returned.

Stopped by police during test drive for no dealer tag. Tires were saturated in amoral and slung all over the side of the vehicle during test ride. Then when starting to leave after purchase the vehicle gas tank was at quarter tank.

Great experience! A bit of a drive but they did everything to accommodate me. There was some touch up issues with the car and that was corrected.

They cost themselves a major sale, future service revenue, and a clean relationship, all to save a few hundred bucks on paper today. If management here is willing to let an immediate, qualified buyer walk out the door over a rounding error, it shows an absolute failure in leadership and basic deal making. I will gladly take my business and my capital to a dealership that understands fundamental economics.
