1996 Ford Explorer Reviews
| “Ford Explorer Sport” Reviewing:
1996 Used Ford Explorer 2 Dr Sport SUV
I'm pretty satisfied with my Explorer, I'm not by any stretch of the imagination an expert, but I like it. It gets about 21 MPG, handles well, and is roomy without being bulky. I give it about an 8 out of 10. Not as fun to drive as a small car, but better than a large SUV.
Pros —
Roomy, comfortable,
Cons —
Chipping paint, high miles

| “Great Suv” great truck. its 12 years old and still runs great. the manual transmition gets great fuel economy. things are startin to break, but what can you expect of a 12 year old truck with seventy thousand miles on it that has been used as much as this one. i inherited it from my dad when he got a new car so it didnt coast a penny. it has great acceleration and towing capacity and performs well on the highway.
Pros —
great fuel economy, sound system, and towing capacity
Cons —
a little old but when new, was virtually a perfect truck

| “Watch What You Buy!! Research, Research, Research!!!” Reviewing:
1996 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
It cost us WAAAAY too much to purchase, Parts are expensive, it's unreliable, upgrades have to come from the states and the car yard used Chemiweld to hide a cracked head. Would Not buy another car from those dodgy f@#kers!!! Should have done more research on the car AND the car dealer!
Pros —
Looks american gangsterish!
Cons —
Unreliable!
Great Deals

| “Real Name, Ford Exploder” Reviewing:
1996 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
Comfortable, but the suspension is crap, the 4WD doesn't work on angles due to the vacuum lines cupping out.
Pros —
Good handling, decent power for a V6, comfortable
Cons —
Auto trans...gets about 10MPG

| “Cruiser” Reviewing:
1996 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
not the best mpg for what it is (4.0 V6)
Pros —
4wd, comfortable
Cons —
rust, gas mileage, not enough power for my liking

| “It's On It's Way To The Grave.” Reviewing:
1996 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
Obviously, the car in the pictures is not mine. Mine has a lot more wear on it. Has over 214,000 miles. Back hatch doesn't open, only has one wiper and gets about 10 miles to the gallon. But it's never not started and always runs strong. I'll be testing it out on my road trip in May.
Pros —
It runs good.
Cons —
It's a FORD.
