1975 Toyota Corolla Preview summaryImage

In 1975, Toyota introduced a restyled Corolla, with an angular body and a raised center section in the grille. Five body styles were available that year, including a two-door sedan, a four-door sedan, a two-door hardtop, a two-door sports coupe, and a five-door wagon.

With so many body styles, the 1975 Corolla was available in many trim levels. The sedans both came as a standard, DX or E5. The coupes came as a standard or a SR5. The wagon came as a standard or DX. All came with a 1.6-liter engine, except for the two-door sedan, which came with a 1.2-liter engine. Also new for 1975, a catalytic convertible was included in the Toyota Corolla.

The 1975 Toyota was criticized for being more expensive and less fuel-efficient compared to its competitors, like the Honda Civic and the Datsun B210.

Sweet car, I bought it because it was rare, plus it was only 2k, sold it for 4k. I had to install like new spark plugs, set timing, cat controller, and a few other things. but there was nothing like that clutch.. so smooth. Jul 31, 2011

Slow, really slow, I think it was a 1.2 litre carburettor motor, probably about 20hp ... Stayed in 1st gear until 80km/h, then onto its second and final gear! I managed to max the speed out at 125km/h, downhill. Looked like a mini muscle car and I loved the pillarless doors.Jul 25, 2010
