2005 Lincoln Navigator Luxury 4WD Summary
A little luxury goes a longer way when it can really cut through a few inches of snow. That's what this trim level of the 2005 Navigator brought to the table.
The Luxury 4WD boasted the same nice list of standard features as its rear-wheel drive counterpart, but the added versatility of four-wheel drive is considered by many SUV-drivers to be a necessity. The Control Trac system came complete with the requisite 2 High, 4 High, and 4 Low settings as well as an Automatic mode, all within easy reach on a dash-mounted dial.
The 5.4-liter, 300-horsepower V8 was new for this model year, but it came with increased torque, putting out 10 more pounds-feet than the previous engine. The 4x4's towing capacity maxed out at 8,300 pounds, making it more than sufficient for most family's recreational needs.
Those active families would have been especially wise to add the available voice-activated navigation system, mud guards, and a towing prep package, as well as a DVD entertainment system, high-intensity headlights, chrome wheels, and a sunroof. For more freedom with seating and cargo-space configurations they could also have substituted a second-row split-folding seat in place of the pair of captain's chairs and center console.
