2005 Chrysler Pacifica Touring Summary
Chrysler has carved out a new niche in the SUV market, with the first minivan-based crossover sport utility. The Pacifica shares its platform with the popular Town & Country minivan, which gives it a longer wheelbase and a more spacious interior.
There are now seven Pacifica models available in 2005, due to the addition of three new trims levels. All variants come with Chrysler's flexible and convenient "Stow N Go" seating, which allows any of the four rear seats to be folded flat individually. The Pacifica offers 80 cubic feet of cargo space.
All Pacificas come standard with full power accessories, front power seats, heated seats (first two rows), and dual-zone climate control. The new Touring trim is differentiated from the Base model by the addition of a 10-way power driver's seat, automatic climate control, a navigation system, and Chrysler's "UConnect" hands-free communication system. Leather seating and a rear seat DVD entertainment system are both optional.
The Touring, Limited, and Signature Series Pacifica models are all powered by last year's 3.5 liter 24-valve V-6. This engine generates 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, and it is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with the AutoStick manual shifter. Chrysler claims a 3500 pound towing capacity.
