The Chrysler Pacifica crossover SUV enters its second year of production in 2005, now with a total of seven models to choose from. The upscale Limited trim is new this year, and it is only offered with the AWD drive train.
The Limited and Touring models are similarly equipped, but the Limited is set apart by the addition of a one-year subscription to Sirius satellite radio, a six-disc CD/DVD changer, and leather seating. Both trims come equipped with automatic dual zone climate control, power front seats (10-way/4-way), heated front and second row seats, a navigation system, and Chrysler's "UConnect" communications system.
The Pacifica shares its platform with Chrysler's Town & Country minivan, and it is the only crossover SUV which is not car-based. The 116 inch wheelbase allows for 16 cubic of luggage room and 80 potential cubic feet of cargo space when the second and third row seats are folded flat. All properly equipped models will also tow 3500 pounds.
The Pacifica's engine is a 3.5 liter DOHC V-6, supplying 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 is teamed with a four-speed automatic transmission, featuring the AutoStick manual shifter. Gas mileage is estimated at 17/22 mpg with all-wheel drive.
