Preview of 2009 Ford Escape XLT 4WD
The 2009 Ford Escape XLT 4WD sits on 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in white-letter tires. Powered by a 2.5-liter inline four with a six-speed automatic transmission, rear privacy glass, roof rails, and foglights provide visual identification. Traction control and a theft-deterrent system are standard, along with antilock brakes with anti-skid and a tire pressure monitor. Front bucket seats and a split-folding rear are all covered in cloth upholstery, and the driver’s seat has 6-way power. Convenience features for the XLT 4WD include air conditioning, cruise control, power mirrors, windows, and locks with remote keyless and keypad entry, and a tilt, leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls. An automatic day/night rearview mirror includes a compass and an outside temperature indicator. A tachometer is included as well as variable-intermittent wipers, a rear wiper and washer with defogger, a center console, and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with digital media connection and satellite radio. Illuminated visor mirrors and automatic headlights mean you can see both inside and out. Safety features include dual front, front side, and curtain side airbags with rollover deployment.
