2008 Nissan Frontier LE Crew Cab 4X4 Summary
The Nissan Frontier is a class leader in the compact pickup truck category, and the LE is its top trim line.
The Crew Cab configuration is the more spacious of the two available configurations (Crew and King), being "more sedan-like" with its rear bench seating. The Crew Cab was the overall choice for carrying people, despite reviewers finding "kid-size" rear legroom.
The only LE engine is a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 261 hp and 281 pound-feet of torque. A sophisticated five-speed automatic, the only available transmission, sends power to a four-wheel-drive configuration. Kelley Blue Book comments that the engine "might be the smoothest, strongest V6 ever put in a pickup." Performance is brisk, and handling is exceptionally well mannered. Gas mileage is the only drawback. The EPA rates the V6 with all-wheel drive and the five-speed automatic at 14/19 mpg.
The LE trim line adds 17-inch, four-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A tires, the Utili-track Channel system (a built-in track and heavy-duty cleat system), and a factory-applied spray-on bedliner with rail caps. A roof rack with crossbars; body-colored front bumper, door handles and mirrors; automatic on/off headlights; and HomeLink Universal Transceiver are also standard.
The four-wheel-drive LE Crew Cab (59.5-inch bed) can carry 1,356 pounds and has a maximum towing capacity of 6,100 pounds.
