Take one step up from the XLT 4WD among the 4WD trims, and you get the STX SuperCab 4WD. As the name indicates, you get four doors and room for six. This trim uses a 4.6-liter, 248-hp V8 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. Unlike many other trims, the 5.4-liter, 300-hp V8 engine isn't an option. Standard features include air-conditioning, a CD player, and ABS brakes. The STX SuperCab 4WD stands out in maximum towing capacity, but for the wrong reason: It can tow up to 6,100 lbs, one of the lowest figures among F-150s. So if you need room for six passengers and can do without a few features, this trim may just fit the bill for you.
