2008 Mazda MAZDA3 s Touring Summary
The biggest difference between the 2008 MAZDA3 s Touring sedan and its sibling Sport trim is a car-load of standard safety features. In addition to 4-wheel ABS and disc brakes, dual front-side and side curtain airbags (new for 2008), a tire monitor, and electronic brakeforce distribution, the 2008 s Touring features traction and stability control, foglights, and larger 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. A 2.3-liter, 156-hp DOHC inline four is matched with a 5-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic and gets around 22/29 mpg. The sport-tweaked front independent and rear multilink suspension helps produce tighter handling and turn ratios. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is available as an option.
Like the Sport version, the 2008 MAZDA3 s Touring comes with a full array of power features, including remote entry and remote trunk release. Remote start is optional. Leather interior trim adds a sporty touch. Other standard features include wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls for the CD player, an MP3 input and two power outlets, intermittent wipers, tilt and telescopic steering, and a tachometer and temperature display. Satellite radio is optional, along with a 6-CD in-dash changer. Legroom in this compact SUV is tight, but 11 cubic feet of cargo room is pretty standard. Rear seats split-fold for more space. The 2008 MAZDA s Touring adds a cargo tray to the cargo net option and also can be outfitted with leather upholstery.
