[Edit] Toyota's midsize Tacoma lineup begins with this modestly equipped Regular Cab variant. Standard features become more abundant as the cab size increases. All cab sizes can receive the PreRunner styling upgrade, which adds the look and suspension of a rugged 4x4. Additional Prerunner features include two 12-volt auxiliary power outlets, a CD player, telescoping steering wheel, and cup holders. An optional Standard Package adds bucket seats with a center console, sliding rear window, and air conditioning. This cab size includes a 60.3-inch-long bed.
Regular Cab Tacomas house the 2.7-liter DOHC inline four, which generates 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Toyota's VVTi variable valve timing technology not only improves engine power, but also enhances efficiency; this Tacoma will reach into the high 20s (mpg) for highway mileage.
