For 2008, Infiniti upgraded the interior and exterior of its full-size QX56 AWD, and upped the ante even more with the addition of three years of complimentary XM satellite radio and XM NavTraffic service, making its big SUV even better.
A 320-horsepower, 5.6-liter V8 engine provided plenty of power for the QX56 AWD. Infiniti noted that the engine was one of the strongest it has ever built, with a reinforced aluminum block and a forged-steel crankshaft.
The QX56's full-time Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system can detect traction needs in nearly any driving situation and make adjustments accordingly, shifting automatically from all-wheel-drive to rear-wheel-drive or any combination, according to the automaker.
New interior features for 2008 included redesigned gauges for the instrument cluster and a larger eight-inch screen for the optional DVD entertainment system. There was also a greater use of wood trim to add to the interior's luxury feel.
Other standard interior features included leather-appointed seating, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats with power adjustment (10-way for the driver, eight-way for the passenger), and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system with a 9.3-gigabyte built-in hard drive that can store nearly 3,000 songs.
Exterior upgrades for 2008 included a new grille, new front and rear fascias, updated fog lights, a new roof rack, and new 20-inch chrome wheels.
