The 1500 is the only Express trim level available with all-wheel drive. The 1500 is offered only with the standard 135-inch wheelbase, and the 1500 has a half-ton designation. The LS trim comes with a very basic set of included features, including air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and an anti-theft system. Since the 1500 is intended as a fleet vehicle, there are no significant comfort and convenience upgrades available.

The 1500 houses a 5.3-liter V8, generating 295 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. This V8 is teamed with a four-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity on 1500 models is 6,300 pounds.
