2008 Pontiac G8 GT Summary
Pontiac performance looks to be back with the introduction of the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT sedan at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show. The production model will likely have smaller tires and more ground clearance, but the GT will be fueled by a heart-pounding 6.0-liter, 362-hp V8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. A 6-speed manual may be available later. ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a limited-slip differential, an adjustable independent suspension, dual front-side and side impact airbags, fog lights, and 18-inch tires are some of the performance and safety features on the 2008 G8 GTP sedan.
Dual hood scoops, quad exhausts, and clear taillights will distinguish the GTP from the twin exhausts and red lights of the GT. A rear spoiler is also included. Power locks, windows, mirrors, and seats are standard, as are OnStar and satellite radio. On the GTP, a two-tone leather option is available. Heated leather seats will also be extra. A Sport Package adds 19-inch performance tires, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and alloy pedals.
