The Town & Country lineup has been carried over for 2006 model year. The popular minivan has seen little change since 2001, when new engines and trims were added. This base model offers a comparatively affordable entry point for this upscale family vehicle: the top-of-the-line model costs over $10,000 more.
The base is one of two Town & Country models which are powered by the smaller V-6 engine. This 3.3 liter DOHC V-6 generates 170 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, and is paired with four speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is estimated at 19/26 mpg. All models are front-wheel drive.
The 3.3 liter-equipped base model will tow about 2000 pounds, and the shorter wheelbase body offers slightly less overall cargo space at, 129 cubic feet. Chrysler's Stow N Go seating is not a standard feature on the base. This model comes equipped with power windows and door locks, keyless entry, cruise control and a four-speaker CD audio system.
