The 2006 model year wrapped up the Sebring's first generation of production. The popular Eclipse-based Sebring coupe was discontinued for this year, but Chrysler added the sporty TSi sedan to the lineup. The 2007 redesign would bring forth a more capable mid-size sedan, and Chrysler determined that the TSi's performance focus would no longer be needed.
The TSi is the top shelf Sebring model, with respect to both price and performance. This sedan is differentiated from the others by a 17-inch alloy wheels, wood trim, two-tone leather seating, special exhaust ports, and a more aggressive body kit. Full power accessories, air conditioning, and cruise control are also included. The TSi is the only Sebring sedan to offer ABS and traction control as standard items.
Despite its sporting orientation, the Sebring TSi is equipped with the same power plant as all other upper level trims: a 2.7 liter DOHC V-6. This engine delivers 200 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque, and it is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency is estimated at 21/28 mpg.
