In the LE only, the four-wheel drive is either part-time, driver-engaged, or full-time automatic on-demand, where torque is sent out to whichever wheels need it the most. This provides added safety and convenience in the already well-equipped large SUV. ABS brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, a double wishbone suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and all-season tires, foglights, automatic headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual front airbags and side impact bags for all three rows of seats, a tire monitor, and traction and stability control are all standard on the 2006 Pathfinder LE 4X4.
Inside, you'll find every convenience, from full power features and power front seats, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, a CD changer and MP3 player, leather seats, heated front seats and heated mirrors, rear air conditioning, a trip computer, first aid kit, intermittent front and rear wipers, and a sunroof. Cargo tie-downs are available in the cargo area, which expands from 16 to 79 cubic feet, and there is a trailer hitch and roof rack for more versatility. Seatback and consoles provide extra storage, there are cupholders for each row, and a front power outlet. The LE 4X4 adds wood trim to the leather interior, for extra class. Add-ons include a DVD player, satellite radio, and a navigation system. Good power, space usage, and standard features are highlights for 2006 Pathfinder LE 4X4 drivers, who also like the high safety ratings. Some road noise, a tiny backseat, and low fuel economy are negatives.
