2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE Summary
Catering to family comfort, the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE adds more convenient features to the rear-wheel drive SUV that seats seven in three rows (third row sized for kids only). Fueled by a 270-hp, 4.0-liter DOHC V6 and 5-speed automatic that gets 291 lb-ft of torque, the 2006 Pathfinder LE can haul up to 6000 pounds with its trailer hitch, and store up to 79 cubic feet of cargo once the third row folds flat and the second row and front passenger seat are folded down.
Compared to the SE, the 2006 Pathfinder LE has larger 17-inch alloy wheels, and adds a sunroof, heated leather seats, a CD changer/MP3 player, power front seats, rear air conditioning controls, and power-adjustable pedals. On the safety front, side impact airbags for all three rows join the dual front bags, and the LE also includes foglights, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Audio controls join the cruise controls on the steering wheel. ABS brakes, traction and stability control, and a tire monitor add to the safe feel behind the wheel and the four and five-star crash ratings. The only options left are a navigation system, DVD player, and satellite radio. The long list of standard features is a big draw for owners of the 2006 Pathfinder LE, who also feel it's comfortable and roomy, at least in the first two rows. Low 16/23 mpg is also felt severely at the gas pump.
