2006 Nissan Armada SE Summary
The base model for Nissan's new full-size gargantuan SUV is the rear-wheel drive 2006 Nissan Armada SUV. Powered by the Titan's 5.6-liter, 305-hp DOHC V8 and 5-speed automatic, it seats eight in three rows, and is fully equipped with 4-wheel ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a tire monitor, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, dual front airbags and side bags for all three rows, brake assist, parking sensors, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A double wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and a limited slip differential provide rugged handling.
New this year are standard dual-zone climate control, and a flat-folding 60/40 split third row. The 2006 Armada SE caters to convenience, with full power features, power driver's seat, power-adjustable pedals, a CD-changer/MP3 player, heated mirrors, intermittent front and rear wipers, rear air conditioning, and wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. Cupholders and storage compartments are widespread, and the rear liftgate opens independently of the window. Tie-downs are standard, and a trailer hitch (to tow up to 9100 pounds) is extra. Other options include a new satellite radio, a DVD player, sunroof, power passenger seat, and upgraded audio. Drivers say the SUV feels safe and solid, with smooth handling and excellent acceleration. Low 13/19 mpg is the biggest complaint.
