The news on this year's Laredo was that an upgrade to the Quadra Trac II four-wheel drive system was made available on V6 models, as was the Off-Road options group. In other good news, an antiskid system became standard on this trim.
This new generation has much improved its reliability rating, according to professional reviewers. Owners of the Laredo had their opinions, too, and they were generally satisfied with its acceleration, although the lack of fuel economy is a disadvantage.
The suspension has been softened to please the suburban commuting crowd who never take their rigs off pavement, and that was a sticking point with some drivers. A couple of users complained that the fabric seats stain easily, and others lamented that the small back window made for lessened visibility. Another complaint was that there really isn't a load of room in the backseat or cargo area. But this 4x4 is meant to go off-road, so save room for your shovel in that tight cargo space.
