Satellite radio is a new standard feature on the 2008 Lincoln Mark LT Base. The Base is a rear-wheel-drive luxury pickup with a standard 5.5-foot bed or optional 6.5-foot bed. Under the hood sits a 24-valve, 5.4-liter, DOHC V8 that delivers 300 hp and 365 ft-lbs of torque. Handling is helped by the double wishbone front suspension, live axle rear suspension, and coil-over shocks. 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires support the 5-passenger pickup. Safety features include 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, dual front-side airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, traction and stability control, electronic brakeforce distribution, foglights, and mirrors with turn signals. Last year's model earned four and five stars in crash tests.
Captain's chairs and over 40 inches of legroom greet front-row passengers, and the rear bench split-folds. Access is provided by four full-size doors. Luxury comes in the form of heated leather seats, 6-way power front seats with driver's memory settings, remote entry, full power features, heated mirrors, a 6-CD player with MP3 playback, trip computer, wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, intermittent wipers, and a temperature display and compass. Leather, wood, and satin nickel finish accent the doors, shifter, and wheel. New options this year include a rearview camera and remote start. These join a navigation system, rear DVD player, sunroof, power-adjustable pedals, and 20-inch wheels. A towing package allows the Mark LT to haul up to 8,900 pounds. An Appearance Package adds body-colored moldings, folding mirrors, and tubular step rails.
