The extended-cab variation of Chevy's light-duty Colorado features two short, reverse-opening doors. The extended cab layout also retains the longer bed (72 inches) found on the regular cab.

The LS is essentially a base-level trim, with only a minimal selection of standard features. However, unlike the Work Truck trim, buyers can add a few comfort and convenience features at this level. Trim and seating are also upgraded.

Almost every Colorado houses a modest 2.9-liter inline four-cylinder engine, good for 185 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, and a four-speed automatic is optional. A larger 3.7-liter inline five is also optional, increasing both horsepower and torque to 242.
