A four-door Hummer pickup, with a bit more attitude, the 2006 Hummer H2 SUT was first introduced last year and remains unchanged for 2006.  It gets its gruffness not only from its full-time all-wheel drive with center and rear locking differential and low range gearing, 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, 10-inch ground clearance, and standard skid plates, but also from a 6.0-liter, 325-hp V8 with 365 lb-ft of torque.  A 4-speed automatic is the only transmission on the 2006 H2 SUT.  Dual front airbags, 4-wheel ABS brakes, traction control, automatic headlights, foglights, and auto-dimming mirrors are also included.

The SUT only seats four or five, without the optional third row seat you find with the SUV.  Its small 3-foot long open cargo bed comes with tow hooks, bedliner, tie-downs, and a trailer hitch, and a roof rack is also standard.  The famously obnoxious rooftop light bar is optional.  Rear seats fold down and a Midgate wall can be removed for three more feet of space, if you actually want to use the pickup bed to store anything.  All seats are leather and heated, and the interior includes such rugged features as power front seats, CD player, OnStar, front and rear climate control, and wheel-mounted audio and cruise control.  Unlike the SUV, the 2006 H2 SUT also comes with a sunroof.  

There is a new Special Edition package that adds a DVD player, rearview camera, running boards, and alloy wheels.  Lack of cargo room, poor gas mileage and a plastic interior are minor annoyances to owners who love the safe and solid ride in the iconic behemoth, the AWD performance, menacing style, and long list of standard features.
