I bought this car got it for 500.00 less than the asking price called salesman a couple times and left him messages and he never called me back dealer called right back when I called the first time to see when I was comming to look at the car

Typical dealer, low initial offer for trade, had to bring in proof of other offers. Pushing dealer adds, had to start leaving before they would take them off the deal. Did buy the car there, but not because of the dealer.

The sale representative truly gave good customer service. However, the used car manager gave the worse customer service. We drove far and we were treated with a I don't care attitude. If you don't buy I have another person coming to see the vehicle. I never will come back to this dealer again.

They called me and confirmed my appointment the day before the appointment. They also called me the day off the appointment to confirm my appointment, however after I drove 30+ miles to the location, they told me the car we had spoken about was sold the day before. They wasted my time and energy, they could have told me that when they called me to confirm the appointment.

Agreed to buy the vehicle and yet they sold it out from under us after a FIRM agreement for our purchase had been made and accepted. We immediately complained to Corporate Toyota. However, no recompense was made and the gen'l manager, Bob, was most abrupt and demeaning -- far, far from being a [respected] tactful business person. Mr. chip-on-shoulder / napoleon complex--altho to be fair, I never met him. The phone conversations were enough. Totally displeased.

Bad service after you bought the car. I call a lot of time the salesmen to help me something he answered your phone said ok will help you and call your back asap but doesn't call back. I call them day by day still the same thing. I never go back that dealer to buy the car again

I set up a test drive on this car at 4pm on a Wednesday and by the time I got to the dealer at 10am the next morning I was told the car had been sold. When asked how that was possible I was informed that this dealer doesn't hold used cars. The salesman and then his manager tried to get me to look at other vehicles that were at least $2000 more than the car I came to look at.

I had a positive experience test driving a pre-owned Mercedes- Benz with Pete. I liked the car, but I had another one to look at. I had originally been primarily interested in their car, but a lack of communication led me to pursue another deal on the same make and model. If you are ever looking to buy a car , I suggest NEVER Doing business with Elgin Toyota On Lake Street Across From Villa Olivia.... I Have been in the Market for An older Cadillac STS V For some time since i cant afford a new one ....lol... I Finally found one there at Elgin Toyota....It was a Black 2006 STS V with 34,754 miles on it. Absolutely Beautiful car....l went and test drove it on Monday and told them I wanted a remote start put in , The salesman agreed and said it would be $599.00. I said do it....I Then told him I had my own financing and I would be in Tuesday to get my trade in appraisal and do the Deal , He said he was taking the car off the lot and would take it home with him that night so it wouldn't be there on the lot.... I Called And got The financing all done Tuesday morning and Got a call from the salesman and he said to Wait until Wednesday after work Because the sales manager was off and would be back Wednesday and they had to put the remote start in....I said It's a done deal right ? He said Oh YESSS 100% , I already have the paperwork ready ,We are waiting for you to get here ....On Wednesday about 2 pm The salesman called and asked when I would be there and I told him around 4:30 and everything was good to go and I would have The Check in hand and get the deal done , He said get there as soon as I can He would see me then...I was literally pulling out of my driveway to go get this car when The sales manager called and said that They just sold the car to a guy in Colorado who was flying in to Pick it up and he had the money wired ....I was completely Shocked and dismayed!!!...All hecsaidcwasc,Unfortunately sometimes these things Happen..I couldn't believe it...We had a Verbal agreement in place and they told me 100% The car was mine And then Sold it out from under me.... I voiced my Obvious displeasure to the sales manager and then some...I Thought their conduct was very unprofessiona,l Deceitful and dishonest at the very least. ....I still can't believe it.. I'm soo Angry with them !!!..... I WOULD NEVER , EVER DO BUSINESS WITH ELGIN TOYOTA !!!!......."

Never go there.sale person talk with you different price .thane manager coming and try to convince you .later coming one price and sale person done your deal .other manager coming and he talk different price .sale person know that his manager wrong and rude. But he is helpless. Very bad experience.

Car I went there to buy sold a couple hours before I got there. I bought a different car from them and am happy with the deal and the service. The people who operate the phone bank could use some more training on how to answer questions.

Terrible. Didn't take me seriously. Would not negotiate with me on the price, or give me the out-the-door final price unless I committed to buying the car that night. What moron buys a car without knowing the price??? They obviously thought I was, but I walked out. They didn't even have the nerve to look me in the eye and say we won't make a deal. Shady at its best. The only reason I did not give them one star is because I only dealt with two unprofessional people, and can't speak for the rest of the staff.

I ended up buying this vehicle for a little less than they were asking, there were was an issue with it after I got home with it, I had to replace one of the brake calipers because it was sticking, the dealer did how ever recharge the A/C that wasn't working when I test drove the vehicle, it took a long time to get the deal done because they were busy and I was haggling them on the price even though they dropped the price by a few grand already. The salesman that I was working with was very easy to deal with.

The dealership was nice dispite da fact that I was willing to purchase vehicle an put 65% down on car but they kept insisting I wouldn't get a loan that low that I would only get an extremely large loan...also dealer never asked for my pay rate, credit score jus was persistent on making a sell without even trying to accommodate the buyer

My financing agent added a $2,500 mechanical warranty I was not aware that I signed for. Right now I'm in the process of trying to get them to reverse that. This is a dishonest dealership and should not be dealt with under any circumstances.

Worst experience on a dealership used car manager was unprofessional and disrespectful. Car they are selling is full of rust they want to charge 2000 dollars extra for interior cleaning rather than taking care of the rust the car has also the check engine light wasn't check.

I called the dealership after receiving an email to set up a test drive. The woman who answered lacked customer service skills. She did not get my name or phone number but said she would tell someone that i wanted to see the car. I gave her the cars stock # but she couldnt find it in her system. She gave me her name (Amber) only after i asked who i was talking too just in case i had to call back. The test drive was satisfactory but the salesperson wasnt very eager on making a sale. Overall... very poor service.

Sales staff didn't take the time to listen to my needs, tried selling me services I didn't need. Distasteful on the fact of how little they offered me for my trade in. Other than Mike the GM I felt the customer services was subpar. I was very annoyed when I called that the receptionists wouldn't even listen to what I wanted before she would connect me to someone and then I would get the persons voicemail or have to call back to further explain what I needed. Once they have your money it's like you don't exist. GM was great and so was my salesman but the rest of the staff sucked. Overall I'd give it 2.5. I was happy with the car but not with the service. I think they should be more reasonable and offer more for tour trade. Biggest complaint is having to call 50 times to pin down a person to talk to.

Very poor customer service. I drove 2 hours to buy a used 2015 Toyota Corolla and the car was being test drove when I was 30 minutes away from the dealership. I was pre-approved for financing through my credit union & the bill of sale had already been sent to my credit union. I planned on picking up the car later in the week until the GM told me I could pick up the car that day and mail the check to them once my credit union issued it. "They do this all the time." And this would ensure the car didn't get sold in the meantime. I called the GM when I was leaving my home Town and told him we would be there within two hours. I told him I'd like all the paperwork ready to go so that we could pick up the car and leave since we were driving so far. He said he would pull it up front and have everything ready for me. When I was about a half an hour from the dealership I got a call from the general manager and he wanted to let me know that the car was upfront and someone was test driving it. He wanted me to advise me of this because he was pretty sure the young kid was going to get the car. He was trying to be courteous since he knew I was driving so far away but I had already driven an hour and a half to pick up this car. It wasn't a done deal but if this kid bought the car he has an upgraded model that he would make work for me. It was more expensive by $2000 but he would make it work. Long story short my car was sold to the young kid and he would not go down on the price on the other car. He wasted my time and found out he wasn't going to change the price until after I test drove the other car. The salesman informed me that they cannot hold cars for anyone because they sell have them on the cars that they do. I never considered this car being held for me as I told them when I make a trip up there I plan on taking the vehicle and the Bill of sale was already sent to my bank we were just waiting for them to cut a check. It was just a better deal for the dealership to sell it to this young kid because he needed financing through them and they would get a kickback from the bank that provided financing --and I know this because I asked the GM if they get a kickback from financing I would never recommend this dealership. We have bought MANY cars through the Internet and never had had this happen to me, including, dealerships much smaller than Elgin Toyota. They have 700 cars on their lot & couldn't find him another car??

This particular dealership should be embarrassed. I came in later in the evening with an interest in a particular one year old used car that was listed online. When I got in to take a test drive, it wreaked heavily of cigarette smoke, like someone just smoked in it minutes before. When I started the vehicle, the fuel tank was empty with the fuel light on and the gauge was below the empty mark! The salesperson who I was with looked a little confused but suggested I just try and drive it through their lot. At this point my mind was already made up but I figured I'd spare her and do it anyway. As SOON as I put it in drive it continued to make a terrible grinding sound which continued as I barely accelerated and got even worse when I applied the brakes. I literally though it was going to break down in their lot. I proceeded to park it and get out, voicing my frustration and disappointment. The salesperson seemed just as shocked. When we went back inside someone (who I was told was the sales manager) came and apologized and said they'd look into it. I asked him how on Earth that vehicle would even be offered for sale and he proceeded to inform me that "All vehicles offered for sale at their dealership went through a meticulous 126 point inspection." If that is indeed the case, whomever is conducting that "inspection" should be out of a job. I would be extremely weary of ever purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership. I will never even entertain the idea of stepping foot into this dealership again. Like I said, they should be embarrassed.

The Tundra we drove should not have been on the lot; it was a 2011 full of problems. The sales staff was rude to each other and not professional at all. This place did not uphold the high standards expected of a Toyota dealer store.

only complaint was the taxes, my understanding was it was in the final agreed price and while driving the 2 hours to Elgin I received a call and was explained the agreed price was before taxes. However I did buy the Rav4 and love, love, love. All sales personnel and managers were very pleasent and treated you with the customer service that is lacking in most businesses today.

Very bad, they are trying to sell a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan by calling it a family van, though it was a yellow taxi cab. It was repainted GRAY (from yellow) and there is taxi medallion hole on the hood of the van. There is no mention of it in their ad for this van. Thinking of writing to Toyota corporation as I went to this dealership based on its affiliation with Toyota.

I ended up not purchasing from them, but Kate, the online internet sales person, was amazing. She patiently and kindly worked with me through over 35 emails. I preferred not to be called, and she honored that request, and dealt with me via email. She was VERY helpful, and I was VERY impressed. :-) Thanks, internet sales!!!

This Dealer said they would deal on Internet price if I came in. When I arrived they said they didnt do that on Internet pricing. I worked out a comprimise on price and they wrote it up differently. After we agreed on price they brought back sheet to sign that added a $1990.00 extended warrenty that I dint ask for or agree to. They tried to slip this in. I wanted to put a few hundred down to hold car for a few days and they wanted me to write a check for the full amount and they said they wouldn't cash it. I was out the door twice......I did end up buying the car. I tried to have them throw on 2 back tires as they were very bad.....they gave me cash towards that...turned out one had nail in it when we bought 2 new tires. We barely had enough gas in tank when we left to get to another station to fill up. It really was one of the worst buying experience's I've had.

Communication via the internet was great and response times were very good. Communication between the internet sales department and the sales people on the floor is lacking. Asked to receive a call if a particular car I was interested in was unavailable prior to my arrival. Drove 55 mintes out of my way to see the car, called to ask if the car was still available (it was) then about 10 minutes from the dealership location received a call and was told the car sold and 1.5 hours ago. Could have avoided the drive all together if there was communication amongst the sales people. Did not even look at any other vehicles as I was only interested in the one they had.
