Thus far, my experience with Barry and his team has been very positive! I pick up the car next week - and am very much looking forward to taking ownership!

ok. The auto dealer did not answer a simple question...one way or another. I am a man of few words. For that, excuse me. Referencing him/business....he did reply with a letter that was informative and simply. "Okay." TY

I purchased a 2012 Toyota RAV4 with a rare 3rd row of seats earlier this year from Barry. The car was already rated a "Great Deal" on Cargurus.com, so Barry didn't budge much on the price. The car looked good, but there were a couple other issues that I wanted taken care of: (1) There was a low tire pressure warning light on the dashboard, and (2) there was only one key. I told him about these things. He said that he would take care of the tire pressure and make me an additional copy of the key by the time I came back to pick up the car. When I came to pay for and take the car, the warning light was still there, and there was still only one key. The mechanic there told me that the sensor was broken and that there was nothing wrong with the tire pressure. I told Bob that I want the sensor fixed, and he sent me to Sullivan's Tire nearby and offered to pay for it. He also sent me to a hardware store about 30 minutes away to make a copy of the key. He offered to pay for that also. But these errands added several hours to my trip. When they checked out the car at Sullivan's, they said that nothing was wrong with the tire pressure sensor. The mechanic at Bob's had simply failed to check and fill up the spare tire attached to the back, which also has a pressure sensor attached to it. I was unhappy about the extra time, but happy with the car, but soon I realized that I couldn't fill up my car's gas tank all the way. Every time I tried to fill it up, the pump would stop after filling it up about 3/4th of the way. The car also wouldn't start right away sometimes. When I told Barry about this initially, he told me to put premium gas in the car and that that would solve the problem. It didn't. There was a full service, 3-month warranty on the car, so I insisted on bringing the car in to fix these issues once and for all. It was the last week of the warranty, and Barry informed me that his shop was booked so he couldn't get my car in that week, but he told me not to worry, and assured me that he'll get my car in the following week and honor the warranty anyway. He did keep his word. But after inspecting the car, he said that there was a huge dent in the gas tank that was impeding the flow of the gas into the engine, which is why the car failed to start sometimes. The dent also explained why the tank wouldn't fill up all the way. But instead of apologizing for the defect in the car that he had sold me, he tried to make it sound like I must have had an accident, or that someone else who drove my car must have had bumped the gas tank somewhere. I hadn't had any such accident, and I hadn't let anyone else drive my car up to that point. When I was adamant, Barry did relent and agree to fix the car free of charge. I thought this issue was behind me once and for all, until my car stalled out in the middle of the road. No gas light had come on or anything, so I assumed something was seriously wrong with the car. Tired of taking an expensive, hour-long taxi to Barry's, I had my car towed to the nearest Toyota Dealer. When they inspected the car, they said that the car had a second-hand, aftermarket gas tank in it that had a dent, and that this was the issue. (The dealer lied to me and said that it would cost $3000 to replace the gas tank and pump. The actual issue was that the car was simply out of gas, but because of the dent in the tank, the gauge was off, and it didn't alert me when I was low on gas.) When I called Barry about this, he told me that he had indeed replaced my car's gas tank with a second-hand, aftermarket gas tank. I told him that this is the same issue that he was supposed to take care of before, and asked that he fix it free of charge. He told me that it is common practice for auto shops to use aftermarket parts, and insisted that this is not his problem. Eventually, Bob agreed to replace the gas tank, but I would have to pay to have the car towed there AND pay for the new, authentic, Toyota gas tank. He did do the labor free of charge, but I felt like he should have done everything for free, since if he hadn't replaced the gas tank with a used, defective one in the first place, this problem would have never occurred. With a brand new gas tank in place, I started to drive the car home when I noticed that the brakes were making a grinding noise. I stopped and called Barry, and he told me that he noticed that the brake pads were old so decided to replace them. I thought it was really nice of him to do that, UNTIL I remembered that my car was supposed to have new brakes in them! Barry had promised me when I first came to look at the car that he would do a full service on it and replace all the brake pads should I decide to buy the car. He hadn't done what he had said he would do. Barry is a good salesman, and he is not a conman, but he does cut corners. Count your cost, be smart, check everything.

Very friendly guy (Barry himself!). Very honest, told me about every knick, scratch etc. on vehicle! I live too far away to drive there, but if I was within a reasonable range (150-200 miles) I would have driven to this dealership!

I bought the car. Didn't realize Massachusetts does not provide temporary plates. Dealer failed to advise me of this. It complicated the transaction. The price was a fair deal. Dealing with Barry, Ralph and Matt was pleasant.

Prompt courteous service. Low overhead so he got me a great price with no add on costs. Does not do financing or registration but he showed me how to do it.. Location was a little hard to find and is basically a mechanic's garage with cars strewn around, but that is how you save. I am very happy with the CTS.

Don't expect the "Taj Mahal" experience the big guys give you. Barry's is a humble little garage with 3 or so greasy mechanics busy as beavers repairing customers cars. Barry was friendly, and seemed totally open and honest. He's been in the same location in this neighborhood for 30 years! I highly recommend him!

What a diamond in the rough! I despise car shopping and these gentlemen made it a dream experience. They treated me with respect, fairness, and honesty. I don't really want to tell the world because not everyone would appreciate these good guys. Don't know if I'll ever buy a car from anyone else.

Very good overall experience. I bought my Saab convertible from. Mike was an awesome guy to deal with too. The car was in immaculate condition when I picked it up and Barry spent time showing me all the features of the car. I have already recommended him to my friends.

Never met Barry, would have prefered to meet face to face rather than via phone calls. Other than that his employees are courtious and respectful and very easy to talk to. At this point I would recomend Barry's to other people. The disaster recovery site for my company is less than 5 miles away making Barry's very accesable. dennis

Barry was very helpful, rang me back with information, ended up not buying the car from them but would have no problems in recommending them to anyone
