The upgraded, high-output version of this diesel engine makes 500 horsepower and a stupendous 1,200 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels or to available four-wheel drive (4WD) through a 10-speed automatic transmission. 4WD is standard on XLT trims and above. Towing and hauling figures for the new Super Duty were not available at the time of this writing; however, Ford claims best-in-class capacities.
