With the rear seats up, the hatchback delivers 19 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats folded, cargo space expands to 47.7 cubic feet. The sedan offers 14.9 cubic feet.

Chevrolet gives every Sonic a reversing camera. You’ll have to pony up for any other safety options like rear parking sensors, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. The Sonic achieved Good scores in its latest round of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash testing. The National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) gave the Sonic a 5-star overall rating.
