The SLC-Class, formerly known as the SLK-Class, received a redesign and its new name in 2017. For 2019, it gets a few minor tweaks. The SLC-Class manages to look both modern and classic. Upgrades include push-button start, heated seats, leather or premium leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting, and the Mercedes-Benz Airscarf neck-warming feature. Dual-zone climate control and active LED headlights now come standard for the AMG trim. The SLC-Class includes a 7-inch infotainment display, HD Radio, and a couple of USB ports. Features like satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, voice control, and a premium 11-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are all available options. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have not evaluated the SLC-Class, which is typical for luxury sports cars and convertibles. Standard driver-assistance features in the SLC-Class include a reversing camera, driver-drowsiness monitoring, and active brake assist. Options include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and parking assist. For 2019, adaptive high beam assist comes standard on the AMG trim. The SLC-Class looks the part of a modern luxury roadster from the outside and its performance will satisfy most shoppers.
