2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Reviews

An awesome SUV
Gas mileage, transmission shifts are smooth as silk. Love the interior styling and exterior styling as well. No problems, really, other than intermittent blue smoke on startup seems to be due to faulty pcv valve. I love this vehicle, it is amazing in the snow (4 wheel drive with Blizzak snow tires on during winter). Handling is incredible, this is one superb vehicle. Extremely comfortable, no blind spots (I have the backup camera). Very fair maintenance costs, 46,000 km (28,000 miles) as at Oct 2, 2015. I would buy this again, in a heartbeat. -
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4
Very versatile for family and for loading stuff. Brakes are great and the car feels solid. The fit and finish is up to par and there are no cheap compromises. Everything works well and I've been very satisfied with the vehicle overall. it's my 4th Jeep! -
An iconic SUV from the most respected American auto brand
The Grand Cherokee is one of the few vehicles in its class that I can enjoy driving. I drive a lot of vehicles, and very few cars feel like they have been properly sorted. It rides well, not too hard or soft, and the handling is responsive despite the off-road capabilities. The Grand Cherokee feels premium, the design is crisp and handsome, and the interior outfitting is also stylish, and in Limited trim and above, it's pretty luxurious. My Grand Cherokee is a 2013, which means the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 and 5-speed automatic transmission. It's a well-proven powertrain that doesn't cause me any worries as an owner, but the newer 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is smoother and may also boost the fuel economy. I wish the Grand Cherokee with the V6 returned better in-town fuel economy, but it'd be even thirstier with the Hemi. I also found that the standard Michelin Latitude Tour tires are not any good in the winter. The 4x4 system has little trouble getting you going, but turning and stopping, and not sliding off the road, are going to be dicey propositions without proper winter tires. I invested in a set of Blizzak DM-V1s and they're on the car from early December to late March, making it sure-footed when winter strikes. A couple of personal preference things: The Limited trim has a lot of polished/chrome trim. I kind of prefer the Laredo's more understated painted wheels and body-color mirror caps and door handles. On the other hand, the Limited is a pretty well-equipped trim level, coming with standard leather, navigation, and even a sunroof. I skipped the panorama roof because it's a lot of weight high up in the vehicle and it's a $1,500 single option. I was also surprised to see that the Grand Cherokee isn't factory undercoated. I've got to be extra -diligent to keep salt from eating it. Reliability has been good so far, I'm pushing 40,000 miles and don't have any complaints about breakdowns or erratic behavior. I love the Grand Cherokee, I get asked about it a lot and have recommended it a bunch. It's not for everyone - there are vehicles that offer more cargo room and efficiency in the same price range, but none are as enjoyable to drive as the Grand Cherokee. If I'm paying the monthly bill, I don't want to hate every minute behind the wheel. In that sense, I find the Grand Cherokee, which can be a little more pricey than your garden-variety Ford or Hyundai, totally worth it.
