Avg. Dealer Rating: (20 reviews) "I had the WORST experience from a car dealership ever at the Mercedes-Benz of Rochester Dealership. With the exception of my sales man Patrick. This all happened within first 10 days of purchasing my vehicle from Mercedes-Benz of Rochester. The vehicle I bought was misrepresented to me from the beginning to the end with faulty and misleading information on a clunking noise with in the front end which I had asked about on the test drive and was told and reassured it was a minor issue of a sway bar link. Wasn't a deal breaker as the sway bar link was inexpensive to fix. Went to fix the minor issue to find out it wasn't what the dealer had told me and shown me on their inspection sheet of the vehicle stating the sway bar link was in the yellow should be replaced but not required at time of inspection. I had the vehicle inspected at a reputable dealership in my area who's technician assured me the sway bar links and stabilizer bar were good with no play an that the rack and pinion was bad. The rack and pinion bellow boots were caked with grease on both sides as well as there being a wire tie placed around the inner bellow boot on both sides(which I took pictures of and sent to the Sales Manager Jermey ) the power steering reservoir is very low, steering in the vehicle is very tight most of the time, and the clunking noise is there constantly all symptoms and visuals of a bad rack and pinion. After getting home from replacing what I thought would be the sway bar link I had called the dealership and got in contact with their General Sales Manager Rich who RIDICULED me on why I didn't make my vehicle purchase at a different dealership, MOCKED me saying "yes I would of been happier choosing the other vehicle" we looked at prior to inquiring about and looking at the vehicle at Mercedes-Benz of Rochester, and then proceeded to THREATEN me with saying "and what do you want me to me? how about I don't do anything at all. Do you even want my help?" Getting defensive with me about it and Offering me no help to a resolution when bringing the new found issue to his attention. I also said I didn't understand how the issue had been missed and taken for a sway bar link going bad? being it was in your inventory and on your lot for 90 days total before my purchase. I mentioned I would of called sooner but the sway bar link was having to be ordered(7 days since I purchased vehicle) and I then I told him I don't feel as if I or anyone should be threatened by him or the dealership for acknowledging the real problem and bringing this issue to their attention. He agreed that I was right about the threatening and that no one should, that's not what they're about. Then told me I would hear from the Service Manager Tim or the Sales Manager Jeremy the next day. I received a called from the service manager Tim the following afternoon an set my time to come in that day to have it looked at. I took the afternoon off of work and drove an hour and half to have them look at the vehicle again and be there for only a half hour to be told by the Assistant Service Manager Jon that he would talk to the Sales Manager Jeremy about what he sees with it an that Sales manager Jeremy or my sales person Patrick contact me the next day on what they decided. I had talked with my sales man Patrick while at the dealership getting it looked at who assured me they would more than likely take care of the issue as they fix it the right way not just fix it to sell way. But now I can see this was yet again a total utter lie. After not hearing from them at all the next day I called towards the end of the day and finally got threw to my salesman Patrick who had no idea he was suppose to contact me about the decision if I hadn't heard from the Sales Manager Jeremy and told me he hadn't been mentioned anything about it all day from anyone at the dealership and that again I would hear back from himself or Sales Manager Jeremy next day. After finally getting a call back the next day and talking with the Sales Manager Jeremy he said he had his parts department try to find the part which they were unable to find except for an OEM part. I assured him I was able to find the parts online and through the dealership I had it inspected at from new to refurbished to remanufactured ones and I was fine with one of the refurbished or remanufactured ones that I wasn't expecting the them to replace with a brand new $2000+ one. Even offered to forward the information and websites where the parts could be found. He said he would look into it and call me back after the weekend. I received an email from the Sales Manager Jeremy the following Monday saying they can only find refurbished ones which would require me bringing the vehicle in, taking the old one out and waiting 3-6 weeks to get the refurbished one(which was a lie)or an oem one that was $2500 and 8-12 weeks out(another lie the manufacturer of the vehicle had one at a week out) an that the technician who inspected the rack and pinion said its normal for an 08 with 80K. I returned the email stating I don't understand what the noise in the front would be then being as all the symptoms and visuals are pointing to the rack and pinion and I had then sent another email the information and websites that the part new refurbished and remanufactured are available at with no response. Said I was ok with having to drop the vehicle off for a few weeks to correct the issue and wasn't expecting them to go with the $2500 one I would be pleased with a refurbished or remanufactured one I would just like to have the issue resolved as my wife and children primarily occupy the vehicle we bought. Even expressed how I would never have bought the vehicle if I had known the real issue an also how it shouldn't be this much of a hassle and run around to correct the issue which was admitted by the General Sales Manager Rich on the phone when I talked to him first about the issue was mistakenly missed by them. I had also asked for the original inspection sheet and a copy of what they found at my current visit to which I haven't had heard about since asking the Assistant Service Manager Jon about getting the copies he told me he would tell the Sales Manager Jeremy that I am requesting those and I have yet to receive or hear anything pertaining to that. The only resolutions they offered me was to pay for the part if I paid labor. I agreed to pay labor and got The Sales Manager Jeremy the price of cheapest refurbished and remanufactured ones I could find totaling $687.50 plus tax. He only offered to help with $300 not even half the cost of the part they agreed to replace. Leaving me with well over half of the part cost to pay on top of labor to have the work preformed. A month and a half later it took to actually receive the check stating they sent one out that must of got lost in the mail,so they would send another check this time with a tracking number when mailed again. Surprisingly I received it within two days this time. I am very displeased with my overall experience at Mercedes-Benz of Rochester especially from their management. I would highly advise and recommend people to look else where if thinking of purchasing a vehicle or are in the market for one. Even if you need service I wouldn't trust this place to do an oil change or put air in my tires even. At no point in time did I feel as if Mercedes-Benz of Rochester appericated my business or treated me as a valued customer nor did I feel that they were grateful of my purchase through their dealership. I was looking to put my family in a newer safer vehicle but instead I was LIED to about the vehicle from the start and brought the real issue to their attention justbti be RIDICULED, MOCKED, THREATENED and given bunch of HASSLE and RUN AROUND to avoid resolving the issue with the vehicle, on top of wasting time from my personal life and time missed at work, having to drive to and from the dealership and getting no answers or resolution to the bad rack and pinion and being blown off on the subject since. It is very unprofessional and nerve wracking. All around I had bad business as well as a bad experience from this dealership. I would never recommend this dealership to everyone ever. I looked over and edited my review as they had flagged it. Now it does not violate any terms of use."
