2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X Review
by Travis

Xterra Pro 4x

Nissans last true off road vechicle, only full truck frame vechicle. Plenty of extras just wish it had in dash Navigation and push button start, but i will get it one day. it lacks Fuel Economy my v8 in my CHEVY gets 4 mile to gallon better and has more power ( and its a 2001) Xterra is fun to drive though

2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X Used Cars in Marlin, TX 76661

Good Deal

Price: $16,888

Mileage: 74,003

Location: Marlin, TX 76661

Average time on market: 30 days Certified Pre-Owned: No Color: Black Description: Used 2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X for sale - $16,888, 74,003 miles
Avg. Dealer Rating: (3 reviews) "I contacted Glover Ford and spoke with Gary. He was friendly and we talked about that car specifically. I noticed on line that they didn't offer the Carfax for that car, he said it's because of the Carfax lawsuits and that they have had cars that Carfax said were in a wreck but actually weren't, but he knew the owner - they were a small town dealership and knew everybody. Their price was $11,888. So my wife and I drove 2 hrs from Austin on Tuesday, met Gary, and talked more about the car. We told him we needed a reliable car for our son who's going to college next year. He said that car was only owned by a single mom who brought it in for a trade-in. We test drove the car and had some concerns: loud ticking in the engine and really loud road noise. The engine was dirty (they don't clean the engine so as not to look like they are hiding something), but the inside was fairly clean. The tires were horrible - they would not have passed inspection - you could actually scrape the rubber off of the front tires. He said it was sitting for a month so the tires probably had flat spots. The mechanic said the ticking was the fuel injectors and the car just really needed to be driven. The front seat lever was very hard to engage to fold the seat forward - but it was a used car. I again asked for a Carfax but he again skirted my request with the Carfax suits. I tried to negotiate the price - the tires were clearly bad, and I wanted an independent mechanic to look at the car. He said they did a 102 point inspection and had to talk to his boss, Lorne. He came back with a final offer of $11500 - they were a small dealership and couldn't afford to lose money on the deal. I told him I needed a separate inspection before i paid that much for a used car and Lorne came out and told us he was confident in his mechanics that we could bring the car to Austin (where we live) and get the inspection, he would meet us on Thanksgiving morning (he would be in town anyway) and we could sign the papers then. My independent mechanic came that day and pointed out a bunch of issues, some of which were: leaky valve cover and power steering pump, saggy splash guard due to missing bolt, seat lever, loose radiator, and the road noise was probably the lousy tires. But he said they were fixable, not a major concern. My son and i took it to our local Honda dealership on Wednesday to get an estimate on the repairs. $500 for the leaks in the engine, but the road noise may have been bad bearings and we would be able tell better with new tires. I then went to see if Honda offered an extended warranty. The manager showed us the price and asked what the Carfax said. I told her Gary's story and she kindly ran us a Carfax. I turns out that there were THREE owners since 2011. The front seat had been replaced, and more than once it was checked for "noise." Also, no maintenance entries since 2013 - only registration updates. We immediately started searching for another car that day. Gary clearly lied to us and knew about the history of the car and didn't want to share that information. I told them we didn't want the car and why. At no time did Gary apologize or even act surprised about the things I told him was wrong with the car. They asked us to return it - which we declined to do since Lorne was coming to town anyway. They eventually sent someone on Friday to pick it up and drive it back to Glover Ford. I contacted Glover Ford and spoke with Gary. He was friendly and we talked about that car specifically. Before I was ready to leave the house I call and I ask if the vehecle was there and they say " yes is here am I have it ready for you when you get her", well when I got there the vehicle I drove 3 hours for was sold the previous week. What a shame bringing people in with false statements then they try to sale me the vehicle they wanted. Bad customer service, did not care to offrer me nothing, the sales manager never came to apologize .. terrible experience. Also after my review was posted it the manager called me to trying to explained what happened, (his explanation did not made sense)and offered my a $100 gift card for the time and gas I spent, also ask me to remove the bad review I gave them. My time is worth more thatn that but at the same time I told my self that at least he called to apologize. I went ahead and removed my reviews. And this is what he emailed me: 5 April 2017 Hello Jeffrey Please let me start again by saying " I am sorry for your experience at our store yesterday". As you and I agreed earlier on today, for the inconvenience and your time, if you will remove the review that you put on line concerning our store I, Doug the Finance Director of the store will make sure that in return I will have my guy's go and get me a $100.00 gift card for a reimbursement of your time and money and inconvenience. Now this is contingent upon the removal of the review. I assure you that if done I will mail you a $100.00 gift card! Thank you again and I seriously hope to try and earn your business again in the future. Thank You, Doug On the 11th of April I my review has been remove for a week and I sent him a message: Mr. Doug I have not receive the gift card, what is the status Well I never got a response I wrote all this just to prevent that this situation happen to other people like me. DO NOT...trust this business, they dont deserve it. "

Avg. Dealer Rating: (42 reviews) "When I first walked in I was impressed by the hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I test drive the 2 cars I had come to see but decided they weren't for me. As I was driving the cars the dealership was evaluating my vehicle to see what the trade in value would be. I was not finding anything that I liked and was in my budget. The salesman showed me several other cars but none were what I was looking for. After being there for over 2 hours I told him that I was ready to go. I had my 2 young daughters (4 and 6) with me and we were hungry and tired. Instead of letting us go he offered to get us food. I declined but let him show me another car. I told him that I absolutely didn't like it and he tried to push it on me anyways. I began to get upset and straight forward asked for my keys back. It was over 45 min from the time I asked for my keys before they were actually brought to me. I ended up having to walk out to my truck at 9:30 at night and put in the key code and load my girls up to wait in the truck until they would bring me my keys back. Holding me hostage will not make me buy a car from anyone. I was furious and hungry and tired when we left. Worst car shopping experience I've ever had. "
