2010 Scion xD Base Review
by Thedman20

It's a really good little car.

Its a fun car that is quick and quiet. It has good handling, with looks to back it up. You cant beat the reliability or the gas mileage! It's a perfect daily commuter, and even pretty good for long trips.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (33 reviews) "The worst (potential) car buying experience I ever had!!! I used cargurus.com and researched several manufacturers before deciding on a Honda. I even went to the dealership closer to me to actually look at them to make sure this is what I really wanted. I got a price yesterday (01/10/2017) on a 2016 manual transmission HR-V that been on the website 274 days at that point. Three different people called and emailed me before I made it into the dealership. I thought great...we're all on the same page and one of them should be available when I come in. Well no...they were all at a sales training on that Wednesday morning. The car only had 100 miles on it, but was absolutely filthy outside and inside on the roof area. After test driving and even setting up the blue tooth to my phone, we went inside to do the paperwork. The salesman started filling out a paper credit app. I explained I did my app online and was already pre- approved. My sales rep Eddie did a great job in trying to resolve this issue. He even ordered us lunch from the café. About an hour later he comes back with some type of printed out agreement. I stated I was given an internet price of $19,932 not MSRP (after all the car is a year old). They made me actually pull up my email to verify this. WTH...what about the 3 salespeople I spoke to yesterday. Plus there was a $386 sales commission and many other charges on there. He left and came back with a new paper totaling $26,700. Again I questioned some of the items. The third time the line items and numbers had changed but the total was still $26,700. This is when I realized they were being very deceptive. The really sad part was that I did want this car plus my daughter who drive me over 100 miles was going back with her boyfriend to look at the Fits. At this point we had been there several hours and I noticed the car had not even been taken back to be cleaned. I certainly wasn't feeling the enthusiasm I had felt from the internet sales team. A while later Joel J came in to introduce himself and started pulling the many questionable add on's items up on the website...telling me that I did not read it close enough. Really...I am 55+ and this is my 5th or 6th new car purchase plus many used vehicles as well.  I feel I am fairly familiar with this process. The kicker however was that he clapped and stated he was glad I was leaving when I walked out. And added that this dealership sold over 600 vehicles a month and certainly did not need my business. Unbelievable!!!"
