by hawaiianson

Good car for the budget minded!

The outside appearance is deceiving, making one think that this car is small on the inside, but it's not. There is ample leg room inside, which makes it really comfortable to drive, and just enough space to do grocery shopping. It took awhile to adjust having the gauges in the center of the dash instead of directly in front, but it didn't take lo...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (21 reviews) "I was contacted the same day, and even though the car I had inquired about had just sold, I was emailed another car that I might like. I scheduled a test drive, and things went downhill from there. I had so hoped that a local dealership under the Cadillac shield would be a better quality experience than a shady roadside lot, but it was far from a Cadillac experience. I was told the car had passed all their inspections when I said the brakes were crunchy on the test drive, then the very next day the price of the car was going to be jacked up $2000 for them to install tires and brakes. I thought that seemed high and asked if they were run-flats, and the salesman said they were, but they're not. I was offered the original "as-is" price (aren't all used cars sold as-is according to the window sticker?) and told that the current tires and brake should be good for another 10,000 miles or so. Because I did like the car and it was local, I was still leaning toward buying the car. When I went to make the deal, I was asked to sign a post-it note as to "What we agreed on" with 'Detail, buff, no paint, change oil and fluids' written down. I was told the car was in the detail shop in their initial email, which anyone would believe to be after inspection and necessary repairs and maintenance. Since I had discovered the driver seat heat/cool didn't work, I wrote that on the post-it as well and watched the salesman's face drop. Then, after I asked for their inspection report since it had passed all their inspections, I learned they were putting me and my child on the road with tires with less than 3/32" tread and telling me they were good for another 10,000 miles, assumably thinking that as a woman I would blindly believe them until the deal was done and it was too late for me. Lastly, after I had decided to walk away based on the shady post-it and inspection details, the salesman text me to tell me I had to make a decision by the next day, so I responded honestly citing the post-it and inspection, and he spent the next 3 hours texting me back that I knew I had not been misled and they had treated me well.... FAR from it! Two weeks later, I got an almost identical car with brand new tires from a different dealership (kudos to Jack Wilson Chev/Buick/GMC) that did everything on the up and up for a whopping $6000 less than the Cadillac of Knoxville original advertised price ($8000 if you add on their tire and brake installation), and got first class treatment in the process. I wish I could attach files showing their price changes, inspection report, and communication threads as I'm sure it would be an absolute embarrassment to Cadillac, and shocking to prospective buyers."

Unfortunately when I further inquired about the car and whereabouts it was they later informed me that they no longer had the car. I definitely recommend having inventory updated asap in today's technology world. Otherwise communication was good."
