2008 Audi A3 Review
by Gary

Audi A3 Sportback 2.0 TDi (170) S-Line, S-Tronic

Performance - A near perfect blend between power and economy having a big diesel - providing you don't drive with a lead foot all the time. Build Quality - first class. Glovebox lid feels a little cheap though, and needs a firm shove to close. The biggest downside - why o' why does Audi insist on rock hard suspension on S-Line models?

Avg. Dealer Rating: (7 reviews) "If you are browsing around for a car, do not go to this dealership, they do not know what customer service is. They are only nice when you are purchasing one of their vehicles and as soon as there is a problem, they choose to ignore you and not deal with issues that they have caused and are responsible for. Wish I didn't even have to put one star. At first everything seemed fine, When I went to look at the car there were scrapes all over the car, you could tell that car had been towed, but because of the price of the car I chose to ignore the minor cosmetics. The front headlight was out but was promised that it would be fixed as well as order me the owner’s manual. After going over the pros and cons I decided to by the car the next morning. I arrived promptly at 9:00AM (by appointment only on Sundays) and the salesman was late. When I called to make sure he hadn’t forgotten, he said he was getting the brakes changed so that it would pass the Virginia inspection and ended up arriving at about 11:00. Besides the fact that I had to wait for him for two hours over the scheduled time, it came as a shock that he would wait to get the inspection done the day of the sale. After everything was signed and the car was mine, the next day I could hear the brakes making a loud noise and so I contacted him and he said that it was normal because the brakes were new and that it would go away. A week later I contacted him again because the noise was getting louder and so he said to take it to the mechanic where he got it inspected, I took it to the mechanic and he told me that the dealer had just changed the pads. He commented that he had advised the salesman to change the rotors as well as the pads and that he had decided to only change the pads, and at that the cheapest ones available. When I contacted the dealer about this matter he said that it wasn’t his problem that if I wanted “fancy things” I would have to change them myself, after spending so much money on the car I would think the least they could do is change the rotors and pads, especially since I wasn’t even given permanent plates unleashing another world of problems for me. The MVA said they would not accept the buyers order that he gave me because it didn’t have the official dealer stamp on it (that it should’ve had), when I called him about this situation he said that the MVA was wrong and that I should speak to a manager. He was arguing with me and wouldn’t send me the official stamp (which wouldn’t take long to fax), this set me back a complete day waiting for him to fax over the correct paperwork, particularly because he wouldn’t answer my phone calls after I asked him to fax the correct paperwork over.
