2006 Lexus IS 350 RWD Review
by Vanness

Overall awesome ride.

Very nice car. Fast, sexy ass ride. A little small inside so its perfect for 2 people, but not recommended for a road trip. Gas milage is decent but overall its great. This is what lexus should be shooting for and they are continuing to in the near future.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (1 review) "I pride myself on being willing to go outside the box to find that hidden gem of a business that I wouldn't typically patronize. And I always try to patronize small independent businesses in Durham when I can. Unfortunately, I am unable to add Caldwell Automotive to my hidden gem list. I was close to the end of my 2 month search for a truck for my son when I found what appeared to be the exact truck that we were looking for all along in Durham at CA. My wife and I attempted to test drive the truck only to find out (while on the test drive but fortunately before it was too late) that the brakes had completely failed. The salesman was very apologetic (and extremely nice) and promised to get the brakes fixed asap and asked us to give him a chance to make it right. My "out of the box" senses kicked in and I agreed to wait for the brakes to be repaired and test drive it again. To his credit, the salesman kept me timely advised of the status of the repairs but over the course of the next 16 days, the status was that the mechanic needed more time and/or had to order more parts. Since I didn't complete the initial test drive, we never discussed price. At about day 13 of waiting for the repairs to be completed with no end in sight, I did attempt to at least see if we could negotiate a ballpark price on the vehicle. This is where is got really weird. The salesperson started the negotiations 2k higher than what the truck was listed for on the website. I of course went about 2k-3k lower than I was willing to pay. We both quickly agreed to resume price discussions once the truck was repaired and the test drive was completed. That was essentially, the last time I heard from the salesperson. I called him on day 16 and his previously friendly demeanor had disappeared. Very matter of fact (my opinion). The truck was still not ready and he would have to call me back. Predictably, I have never heard from him again. The next day, I went back into the box and purchased a very nice truck at a very reasonable price at a very highly rated dealership in Raleigh. Based on my experience alone, my guess is the target market for this dealership is low information customers who may have trouble getting qualified and aren't going to try to do much negotiating. As of 3 days ago, the truck was still on the lot. "
