I never received it even after calling back and giving them my email again. I decided to just go look at the vehicle. I drove about an hour. When I got there they told me it had a check engine light , and a vibrantion. They were not pushy but i never did get to see the Carfax. I didn't buy from them. A couple days later I received a reply to my 1st email i sent them but it was about the wong car. "

Within a 200 mile radius I found 14 cars that met all requirements. Most of the 'brand' dealers (Toyota, Buick, whatever) had less value -- the cars were always higher priced, and often the mileage was higher too. So I started looking at smaller, independent dealers. One of them was blacklisted by my credit union. Others wouldn't accept my credit union's check for payment. Some didn't return calls or email. In the end, it came down to six dealers that seemed OK -- a good car value, and [at least] somewhat responsive when I contacted them. Of the six, East Coast Motors in Binghamton, NY, was the most responsive. Brent returned my call right away. I had several questions. He did his research, got my answers and sent me close-up photos directly to my cell. It was clear he was interested in my business, had a great car at a great price, and his dealership had great reviews on Car Gurus. I had to travel from Delaware to Binghamton. This necessitated a day of vacation, a 4:48 morning train from Wilmington, a 7am bus from the Port Authority, and pickup at the Binghamton transit terminal. Brent and I kept in contact by text -- he knew I was coming. I notified him of my late ETA as the bus was running a little late. He picked me up exactly on time...in the vehicle I was interest in. I made the short drive back to East Coast Motors. I met the owner, Chris, in their compact office. His business model is perfect for guys like me. We've done our research. Know what we want. And are willing to endure a little travel hassle to get a great buy. A smart, kind young man. Paperwork, signatures, couple calls to USAA insurance -- all done in a matter of minutes. We returned to the nearby Broome County DMV for the temporary plate. Maybe two hours max. Cost of the 30-day NY temporary plate was $12.50 There were no additional paperwork or prep charges. The price given by East Coast Motors was exactly what I paid. I did not negotiate because the price was excellent, more than fair in my mind. The only thing I didn't like was the wear on the front tires. I mentioned this to Chris, the owner... ...who walked over to the shop door, opened it up, and pointed to two tires that had just arrived. "How would these do for you?" he asked with a smile. "They match the rear tires exactly." I'm a sixty-year old guy with a healthy skepticism of Internet auto sales. What I found at East Coast Motors were two hard-working, smart young men that know their market as serve it well. I wish Brent and Chris much continued success."
