2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class Review
by madmla21

great car

this car is built to the best craftsmenship I have ever seen. The 302 HP is enough to make any car scared of it on the road yet little realze that a car this good looking can be so quick. this is one of the best and funnest cars I have ever owned and the soft top is on the complete other end of the spectrum then my old Jeep soft top.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (20 reviews) "They were helpful until they felt they had made a deal. I inspected the car with one of their employees who admitted to the various defects. He gave us a discount on the marked price, saying that we would be well within the discount after the major issues were taken care of by a mechanic. However, I left on the note that he hold the car for me over the weekend, until I obtained a quote from one or two of our local mechanics. The quotes were $800 above the discount, bearing in mind my mechanics had not seen the vehicle and depended on my description of engine and transmission oil leaks, door locks and air conditioning not working, steering box leaking were just a few things that I mentioned to them. The employee said that he would make sure the door locks worked before I took delivery. I over looked several other defects as hoped to take care of them, but I brought it to his attention. In fact he was presented with a list of the defects by us. When I told Hyman the estimate, they said that was their final offer and that they had another buyer interested in the car with a better offer. I asked them why had they offered me a discount, and his salesman said that several people rang about the car but we were the first ones to show up. They were fed up with the car on their lot and were eager to get rid of it, that is why they had discounted it. Strange, that over the weekend (Sunday) a buyer appeared from thin air! Because my previous vehicle was an exact model and I was attached to it before it got totaled, I decided to go for the vehicle even though it will cost me a lot more to fix than I was prepared for. I did not tell them that. None of the door keys worked when the car was delivered to me, and the employee who showed me the car said that he would post a door key to me after he had contacted Mercedes Benz and gave them the VIN # of the vehicle. Until today I have not heard from them. However, I must add that the employee who dealt with us was polite and courteous and I could sense that his boss was calling the shorts. While we parted on the Saturday afternoon, he said he would be willing to get us a mechanic, in the Charlottesville area, who would do the repair work at a reasonable cost. I hope he is true to his word. Until now no word. Also, when we turned up for the inspection, nobody knew we were expected, even though I told Andy my wife and I were traveling from Charlottesville (75miles) on that Saturday to view the car. So we had to be attended between other customers. Mariano "
