2005 Ford Expedition XLS 4WD Review
by James

My 2005 Ford Expedition

Don't buy this if you are on a gas budget. Averages 14 miles to a gallon. Great truck, though. Handles like a car, with truck strength. Mine has amenities such as rear DVD player, towing package, 6 CD changer, power driver seat, power mirrors.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (5 reviews) "We live more than 6 hours away. My wife called and asked about the conditions of the drivetrain, exterior and interior. She was told: no dents, no leaks, everything works. From the photos, I thought I could see a small dent on the front bumper. I called and asked. They said no. I told them I was looking at almost 13 hours of driving. Was there ANYTHING that I needed to know before I made the trip. They said no, it is in great condition. I got there, see a dent in front bumper, both front wheel wells were cut out (very poorly) to accommodate slightly larger tires. Check engine light is on. Cd/dvd player won't work. Electric window opener doesn't work. Brand new engine parts (with clearly visible tags still clean) that they know nothing about. Asked about a code reader and was told to test drive, then they would get it. Left parking lot. Checked 4x4. Took several minutes to disengage (yes I know how, I have a 2000 Ford Diesel truck just like this Excursion). First stop light, a truck sized smoke cloud passed us. Then another. No idea what was wrong, but plenty. We went straight back. Told them it had problems, we weren't interested and left. Disappointing to say the least. Took a day off work, spent the time and fuel, just to find we had been lied to by the owner Anthony and a salesman. Appeared they thought they would get a sale because we had driven so far. Anyone looking at cars on their lot should fully expect dishonesty and cover ups. Sadly, it is by far the worst dealership I have ever been to!"
