2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 1.8T Review

The car is only as good as the driver wants it to be.

For being a stock car, it has some potential. The acceleration is decent, but because of the turbo it obviously has it's ups and downs. Really there is no problems mechanically. Suspension is tight, as it should be. Interior and exterior is both good for style, but I will have to say it is not made for truly carrying 4 people. usually just two....

Avg. Dealer Rating: (24 reviews) "I can only rate this dealer according to the experience I had with them. I was in contact with Tameron Honda Eastern Shore over a 3 day period about a 2016 Honda Pilot listed for sale. I live over 3 hours away from this dealership so I wanted to have all information and agreements finalized before making the trip after work to test drive the car. At first, I dealt with the online sales representative, then, my bank was in touch with the used car manager. My bank called to ask if they wanted us to bring the check with us when we came to look at the car in case we decided to buy. The bank then called me saying the manager knew nothing about my contact with the internet sales person and wanted me to call. When I called, Bob was fairly arrogant in saying he knew nothing about the "deal" I had with the online sales person to take a mere $500 off the asking price. I started reading the emails to him (poor business to blame their lack of communication on me!) He said, he would only take $500 off the asking price if I financed with Honda. I told him if he could beat our bank's rate, I would. I also asked for WeatherTech mats for the car. He told me that he would give me $240 off the price OR the mats, I chose the $240. We made our final agreement and I told him I would drive down after work to test drive the car. When it came time to complete the paperwork, I noticed that the mileage was incorrect on the form. The mileage was over 1,600 miles more than what I was told! I told the salesman that was assigned to me that the car only has 56,049 miles and he said "Yeah, I noticed that, I guess someone just made a mistake." Well, no mistake had been made, the car did have over 1,600 miles more than I was told. I told him that was significant and that I should be compensated in some way for that discrepancy. He talked to Bob again, when he came back out, he said he thought someone had bought the car and couldn't afford it, so the bank took it back! Now, I'm not stupid, why would the bank repossess a car and bring it back to the dealership! I told the salesman I was not happy about the mileage difference. He went back to Bob, who them came out and said' "That's why I gave you such a great deal on the car!" (So you're saying you knew it had more miles??????? We should have been told the correct mileage.) I said,you should throw in those car mats now since the mileage is not what I was told it was, he said he couldn't so that. I did not feel very comfortable about the whole situation and I guess I should have walked away, but I went ahead and completed the paperwork. Oh, Bob also said that he had another couple looking at the car and they were planning to come back in the next day to purchase it! Typical car salesman tactic I know! When it was time to go to the next person to complete the financial paperwork, I mentioned the mileage to him also, he said, "yes he noticed the difference and said it was most likely a mistake and that it had happened before." I understand a mistake, however, an ethical dealership would have apologized for the "MISTAKE" and would have volunteered to make it right, that's called good customer service! Well, on the over 3 hour drive back home, it just kept "eating" at me. I felt like I had just been taken advantage of. So the next morning, I began calling the dealership to talk to the salesman or Bob. I called many, many times, left messages for both and never received a phone call back. After almost 6 hours of calling, I was finally directed to the manager, Brian, I told him the situation and the more I thought about it, it just seemed very unethical. He was very nice and said he would check into it and call me back. He did call back and left a message. He said they were ordering an Owner's Manual for me (which was not one in the car), and that he would give me 2 free oil changes at their dealership to compensate for the mileage difference. He said, "That's like $50 a pop!" I called back and got his voicemail, so I left a message thanking him for ordering the owner's manual for me, but it was rare for us to be in the Daphne area so we would not be able to use the 2 free oil changes (really??? like I'm going to drive 6 1/2 hours round trip for a free oil change???) I really thought he would call back and I waited until the following day to give him a chance to call me back....needless to say, as I am writing this, I have not heard from anyone from the dealership!! This is the 3rd Honda we have purchased, the 1st and last from Tameron, I have a daughter turning 16 soon and she wants a CRV, I can assure you, I will never purchase a car from this dealership again! This is a prime example of why there is such a negative connotation towards car salesman, it's really sad. "
