2003 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS AWD Review
by Fahad

outlnder 2003

Reliable never let me down in 6 years...but performance was no that amazing for a 2.4 litre engine. But been an amazing companion for all long trips around UAE. The fuel economy was not that great but managable..Parts were expensive.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (10 reviews) "I had a very hard time communicating with this dealer. I am not sure of the ethnicity of the owners, but their first language is not english. I had to ask them to repeat themselves a few times for everything they said. Difficult to say the least. But that was when I was actually able to speak with them in person. I first tried emailing them through this car gurus site. no answer. I tried calling them at the number provided. no call back. I went on a Friday afternoon at 12pm. No one was on the lot, with no posted open business hours signs. So I called again to the number posted on the builiding (same as web), no answer. I sent a text, no reply. I went back the next day on a Saturday around 12pm again, and I found the husband and wife team (?). I assume they were just opening up as they were backing cars off the lot and moving them onto the street. The wife noticed I was there for a vehicle after about 2 minutes. I tried asking her about it, but the accent was very thick and hard to decipher. She brought out the keys for the car I was looking at from a bag on the roof of another car and gave me a chance to inspect it. But after about 2- 3 minutes, the husband started yelling to her, she yelled back at him and she left me to check out the car solo. I noticed some noise on the car and the husband yelled at her again. She jumped in the car and turned off the AC on the car and the noise stopped. I asked if he knew anything about the car and he turned around and walked away. After about another 2-3 minutes checking out the car, I was told excuse me sir, but you have to go, please come back later. Apparently, the cars they were moving off the lot were parked illegally on the street and they had to scramble to move them due to a parking enforcement agent rolling up on them. I was barely on the lot for 10 minutes and already being asked to leave. I asked for a card and she ran to the office to grab one. I asked if I could stay in the office to wait for them to have time to show the car. The office was in shambles and very disorganized looking. She was not having it and told me, no-no-no, please sir another time. So I left very puzzled. I was really interested in the car so I came back later that afternoon. I asked the husband what was the price on the car. He gave me a very off putting look. He asked me where did I find the car. I said on the web. So he said, the price is on the web. Let me say that none of the cars on the lot have prices on them, if any info at all. So I guess if I was just a walk up customer, I would be S.O.L. I tried making an offer on the car and he just walked away yelling the price is the price. I gave another offer and they were not willing to negotiate. So I left. On the following Monday I called again using an alternate number on the card, thinking that maybe they were just having a bad day. I spoke to the wife and she said to come visit, they would be open at noon again. This was at 1030 am. I went at noon and no one was there. I waited 25 extra minutes and no one showed up. So I left. I called later that day and she said, we are here now. I decided to ask her the price over the phone. She said I will call you back. 15 minutes later, She said the best they could do was $2650, plus tax title registration and dealer fees, raising the price to $3300. That was $800 over my highest offer and they would not work with me. The price on the web is $2999, raised from $2695. I noticed that the car was not in perfect shape, had a few paint scrapes and noticed a few other things in the interior that were to me negotiable items. That is why I offered a lower bid. But they WILL NOT NEGOTIATE for any reason. Maybe if you know their language you might be able to work a better deal, but not with me. I am not their ethnicity btw. Maybe it was for the best that I wasn't able to purchase a vehicle from this used car lot. There is a lot to be said when things are this difficult to get someone to sell you something you actually want to buy. I ended up purchasing another car private party and not found on car gurus. I would give them a zero stars, but the fact that they had inventory online and the car was there on the lot makes for 1 star. Some places do the bait and switch and don't even do that much. I would not go back to this lot. COLD HARD CASH might work, but who knows with these owners. "
