2001 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe RWD Review
by Chris

2001 Corvette Coupe

Awesome performance, suprisingly good build quality considering its GM, GORGEOUS looks outside, nothing special inside, gas mileage is awesome for a car with ~400hp!! This car is very fun to drive and brings a smile to my face every time I step on the loud pedal!

They worked in the last minute to charge the Battery. The transmission was bad. The left turn light was not working. The attention from the Manager and Sales Account was really good and friendly, but the car was horrible.Unacceptable for a dealer when its core is to sell cars"

Avg. Dealer Rating: (27 reviews) "I am very honest what I am about to writing here. If Tim Lally wants to contest it review, I have all text conversations with one of their salesmen Nathan, Mr. Mike Morris, and Mr. Robert Parr to back up every single thing which occurred while trying to purchase this car. I STRONGLY advise to beware of working with this dealership to purchase any car from them, and I also welcome them to go after me legally if they feel they are being smeared because my text entire conversations with dates PROVE the experience and deceit which I dealt with for over 2+ weeks when trying to purchase this car. On Feb 2 I contacted them about a 2009 Pontiac G8 they had posted for sale. I was told that another customer had just place a deposit on this this car along with 5 other cars which he was buying all at the same time a day earlier. A couple days later a salesperson who goes by the Nathan texted me to inform they are having issues with getting the funds, and also informed me that this customer actually had place this deposit a couple weeks earlier, which contradicts that when I first inquired I was lead to believe that it was just within a day of my inquiry. He informs me that his manager has told him that if this customer who put this deposit down did not come by the end of the following business day that they are releasing the car and I can purchase the car. This day passed and when I contacted the next Nathan he informs me that his manager once again is giving this customer another day to bring in the funds to buy all these cars. This happened 6 times in a row. Every other day I was strung along telling me about his manager allowing an additional day to purchase these cars. I became so frustrated over this I contacted the dealership direct. I spoke to a Mike Morris who flat out informed me that he would call me the next day and let me know if the car was sold or not to buy the car. The very next day I called to confirm the availability of the car and he avoided my calls claiming thru a phone secretary that he was in a training session and she put me over to his voice mail. I never got a call back. I called back the next day and asked for him, I was told he was not available again and then I asked for someone else in charge. Another manger gets ion the phone telling me that they are now giving this customer until Saturday three days later from this phone call to bring in funds in the morning. My wife and I decided to make a trip to the dealership to get in front of this salesmen Nathan and I asked personally to see him. On Saturday Feb 17th (15 days after my first inquiring on this car) Nathan greeted us telling my wife and I that he was almost done with a customer and would see us in a couple minutes. My wife and I sat at a table in the showroom waiting for him for 35 minutes, and we wondered why he could not have his manager come out to deal with us on this since I also asked to see him also. Finally Nathan met us, allowed us to come back to view the car to verify its condition. After seeing the car my wife and I told Nathan we want to buy the car after seeing it. He proceeds to respond tells us that his manager once again is now giving this customer until the end of the business day close on this Saturday at 6pm to allow this other customer present funds. He also reassured us one way or another by the close of the day he would call us and let us know if this customer finally came in to make payment. After seeing the car he said the decision to sell it is out of his hands and asked us if we wanted to talk to his manager to discuss this further. We agreed and were paraded into another office where a completely different (another) manager who goes by the name Robert Parr, who now claims he is the actual used car manager, not Mike Morris who I was lead to believe by Nathan the salesman was the used car manager….very confusing. When I confronted Mr. Robert Parr he flat out told us that this whole situation was the first time that he was even been made aware of this situation. My wife looked at each other and were shocked and did not believe this. We were lied to by both Nathan and Mr. Morris claiming they were handling this. Not only was Mr. Robert Parr arrogant his tone and attitude was unprofessionalism, and we were honestly shocked how this ordeal had gone on over two weeks he could sit there claiming that he had no idea of this whole situation!!! He informed me again by the end of the day they would contact me to let me know if the car was sold. That evening and hour later, I texted Nathan three times within a 45 minute time frame with no response from him period!!! Finally after pressing him with 4 texts for a response he replies that it’s been 2-1/2 hours later since he left work and why am I trying to contact him now! Complaining that he is at a family birthday party. First of all how did I know this, why the negative attitude and tone when Nathan and his two managers assured me that they would contact me after 6pm to give me the info that the car was sold or not!!! Nathan is a flat out liar and overall anyone who is thinking of dealing with him or this entire dealership should just stay away. They are unprofessional, they lied to me 6 times, and deceive customers without any concern. My wife works for Ganely Village Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep in Painesville, Ohio. I personally am not a Mopar guy but a Pontiac guy which is why I wanted to purchase this car being that is GM and Pontiac not Mopar, however with that all said if you really, really want to be treat with respect and treated with integrity as customer, stop out and look at their cars. You will have a fantastic buying experience and not be jerked around. Tim Lally’s the original owner passed away and his son now runs this business, the sad thing, is I even tried leaving him a message directly to inform him of what was going on with this car, providing my name and phone number. Even the owner of this dealership NEVER had the courtesy to contact me. Only using his cronies to deal with this problem. I understand and get it that they took a deposit on this car, and the customer has first rights to buy the car over me, however this ordeal (if it can be believed considering all the lying to me) went on with them dealing with this customer for over 3 weeks with no closure to the deal. I pointed this out on to this manager on how can you let a customer be allowed over three weeks to make good on his purchase when all he gives you is excuse after excuse even when they were pressuring him to complete the deal. His response “Well not only did he buy this car, he purchased 5 other cars all at the same time and we are going to let this go to the full extent as to not lose a big sale as this”. Not stop and think, I get it, it’s a big deal to sell this many cars, but allow someone 3+ weeks and then string me along telling me 6 times every other day that if this customer does not come in on this day and hour the car is yours? I have every text on this entire conversation from Nathan a salesmen from Tim Lally, and if they want to come after me for slandering them with this review, come and get me I will welcome it! I have all the proof and very willing to provide it to anyone thinking about dealing with Tim Lally Chevrolet. They are clearly not in the interest for the all customers if they can lie to someone to just keep them on the hook at an ace in their back pocket- which is what I was to them. I’m not sure how they can be so worried about selling these other cars if they can claim how they sell many to be worried if this customer deal fell thru that they could have sold these cars to someone else. I know how dealerships operate being that my wife has been involved in it for over 33 years. Dealerships ultimate goal is to move cars quickly. Everyday which goes by all their inventory is floor planed and financed with the bank, which means they are accruing daily interest everyday a car sits on their lot. Holding back six cars on a deal for 3+ weeks adds up in interest and dealers are losing money letting cars sit. This is why you are seeing sales listing every weekend and reduced prices. They start out high and when a customer is taking the bait with the inflated price they start to drop it so they can get them off their lost. Why in the world would Tim Lally sit on six cars for 3+ weeks and ignore other customers who could have bought these cars is a complete mystery to me. My advice stay away from Tim Lally they are not for the customer and hopefully reading this long review will open your eyes that they are no in the interest to customers. Tim Lally is wrong dealership for customer satisfaction. Stay away from them! "
