1999 Volvo V70 Wagon Review
by grochomark

Over 200K miles, looks great and runs great...

This is my seventh volvo, only one died of natural causes (a '69, 142 with 348,000 miles) pulling a trailer from Florida to New England. Approaching 300K, youngest has this V70 at college. Parts are cheap, but I do all my own work...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (9 reviews) "Been emailing with Jerry and he accepted a great offer. So i drove 60 miles to go see the car. He just sort of leaned on another car while I looked at it. Didnt seem like he cared at all. Granted it was memorial day weekend so he was probably pissed he had to work. Understandable. Car looked pretty good. Just a small rust spot. (didnt even mention that to him). I asked to take it for a ride. He agreed. He gave me the keys and I took it out. It ran great except I noticed the E-brake was broken. When I got back to the dealership, I told him that it might need to be checked. He replied with a snark remark: " I could also put the price back up to XXXX". I mostly ignored his comment and told him my shopping plan. I had been driving around (300miles+) looking at cars and that I was going to select one to bring my mechanic friend with me to make sure everything was good. He did not like that. He said " ive been in the business many years and this is the best price your gunna get". " dont bother coming back" " dont waste your time" he said. and he walked back toward the car and I left. Not sure what his problem was. I'm not broke and pulled up in a Range Rover! He was right, that is the best deal I have seen so far but since he was not nice (to put it nicely), I would rather not buy the car I want then give him my business. "
