The salesman suggested we get a personal loan rather than a secured one because a vehicle loan would “raise the cost another $2000” and the bank wouldn’t go for it. Obviously not, given it was overpriced. We promptly visited our bank, received pre-approval for a secured loan and headed to another dealership to purchase a vehicle 20 years newer at a similar cost.
