Can i use my car as a trade in with severe damage from a recent accident?

Asked by Jun 15, 2016 at 11:07 PM about the 2004 Scion xB 5-Door

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

my car was not covered on insurance due to a late payment. within 3 hours
of cancellation i was involved in a single car accident. it sustained all front
end damage as well as the front axsil although the engine and major parts
except the radiator are in great condition. the engine has low millage and
interior is in imacculant condition.
Would it be possible to use it as a trade in for a new used car?

Most dealers would never take a damaged/totaled vehicle on trade. Your best bet is to part out/sell the good parts and then scrap the rest yourself and use the money as a down payment on another car.

depends on where you do the tradin' some used car lots are so unscrupulous that they might take it- and only charge you a little more on the contract-

Thanks for the few answers i did receive. Would anyone like to purchace my car? I have to move the car off the street due to the sale of my house and need it gone QUICKLY. Fair Offers Wanted????

just call a salvage yard- they will come get it and give you some money for scrap- maybe as much as $400
