What is causing the throttle body to malfunction?
Hi, I bought my 2002 Saturn Vue V6 in June of this year, since then, I had to change the throttle body 2 time and the same issue is arising again. This morning I was driving to work and the check engine light came on and the car was having a tough time accelerating. When I got to work, I wanted to test it out to see what would happen, so I sped up and it accelerated fine, was able to get up hills and did not stall when stopped. I have not yet checked the codes but this is not something that should be happening since the throttle body was changed 3 weeks ago.
Your issue probably isn't the throttle body. Stop at your local auto parts to have them scan the car for the codes, then post the 4 digit codes back here and we can help further.
The codes that came up are P1779, P0700, and P0121. The ones that came up a few weeks ago was P1779, P0221, P0700, P2101, and P2176.
Just had the throttle body replaced on my Saturn Vue. When I went to pick the car up from the garage i experienced the same surging and chock I did when I dropped the car off. And both the engine and low engine pressure lights were on. The mechanic told be that there was a second part to the throttle body that may need to be replaced as well. Any advice???
