how to fix 2003 saturn vue transmission problem? It will go back but not forward

Your drive clutches are wasted,to much jackrabbit take offs is the reverse ok if not replace rear clutches also. Not hard to work on, trans drive bands are dard to come by.

I hope GuruLHDLL is right, because we have an '04 with exactly the same problem. Just over 200k on the engine, 120k or so on the 2008-recalled CVT. Forward started slipping very badly after backing out of a parking space fine, still reverses fine. Refurb CVTs are $3000 but I saw OEM bands for $300 on eBay. But I'm not the mechanic and I don't have x-ray vision. Will come back if the gamble works for us.
