my 2005 saturn ion losses power while driving check engine light appears followed by power down light i shut the car off for about a minute and is back to normal .does this too often .need help

2005 saturn ion experiencing power loss during normal driving conditions ,the warning
signal pops up i shut off the car for about a minute restart it and drives normal until this
same pattern continues to happen. i don't know how to fix this. any suggestions?

Since the check engine light is coming on visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer. Most stores will do it for free. Post the trouble code(s) and we can help further. HTH. -Jim

My car did the same. I changed the spark plugs first but after that didn't fully work I changed the coil pack. Now she's running smooth. Good luck.
