I have the same problem on a 2008 Saturn Vue XR. There is something not designed correctly for it to happen on so many other GM vehicles. A person would think for the all ths years GM has been making cars this would not be a problem. Did you use OEM parts? I didn't and used Monroe struts and mounts. One strut did break almost immediately and 6 months later a rear shock. It's been a year with only occationally popping sound when turning. I personally think the way the vehicle was designed it would take custom made extra strong struts, mounts and shocks to correct the problem. Don't be surprised if the stabilizER links give you trouble to. I would change them out even if they seem tight and any bushings on stabilizer bar. That helped reduce the popping sound for me for at least a year.
