I need a mechanic who won't cheat me of money, and who will fix my car properly. I need one close to where I'm stayin, off NW Hwy, and Stemmons Trail, at Studio 6 will you give me a reference,
My car which is in pretty damn good shape as it's a 95, has external coolant leak, I've
had a cpl of mech. want to be's tell me it needs gaskets, at timing chain cover, water sleeve,
?? I think I was using too much antifreeze and it ate up more than one gasket, it will be more labor than anything need goood mechanic thats honest in my area nw hwy & 35 is my starting point
try taking a picture of where its leaking from and posting it on here.
you could have a leaking WP or freeze plug,i doubt the timeing cover gasket is the problem.
could even be a leaking hose... but because where it is its hard to diagnose... an easy way to check where, is to get a coolant dye kit. its pretty easy put certain amount in coolant system, run vehicle, use special light to see where its coming from... then we will have a better idea of how to help you out.
or you could have a pressure test done on the colling system,if you got a leak,it will show up.
yes. sometimes depending on the severaty of the leak it could throw you off. which is why i said the dye... either way you will need some tools and someone with some mechanical skills
